LevelBlue adds unlimited Tenable scans to USM platform

Wed, 17th Dec 2025

LevelBlue has expanded its partnership with Tenable and will offer unlimited vulnerability scanning within its Unified Security Management platform at no extra charge for clients.

The security provider has embedded Tenable's scanning technology and risk analytics into the USM platform. Clients can now run continuous vulnerability assessments across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments through a single interface.

LevelBlue focuses on managed security services. Tenable specialises in exposure management and vulnerability assessment.

LevelBlue said clients will not need separate contracts, add-ons, or extra vendor tools for the scanning function. The service sits inside the existing USM platform subscription.

Michael Vaughn, Director of Product Management at LevelBlue, said the arrangement extends existing managed detection and response services.

"As a leading managed detection and response (MDR) provider, LevelBlue is proud to partner with Tenable, the exposure management leader. Together, we're bringing unlimited, enterprise-grade scanning to every USM platform client at no additional cost. This sets a new standard for value in cybersecurity," said Michael Vaughn, director of product management, LevelBlue.

The integration gives LevelBlue clients access to Tenable's scanning engine and associated analytics from within the USM console. The platform collects data on potential security weaknesses and presents it alongside existing detection and response information.

Unlimited scanning

LevelBlue said the offer removes licence-based limits on the number of scans. It also removes separate fees for vulnerability assessments on different types of infrastructure.

The company said organisations can apply the scanning function across servers, endpoints, network devices, and cloud services. They can schedule scans or run them on demand.

LevelBlue said the combined service gives visibility into both known and previously unknown assets. The scanning engine discovers devices and workloads and then checks them against known vulnerabilities.

The vendor said integrated workflows inside the USM platform aim to shorten the time from detection of an issue to remediation. The platform presents findings and then sequences follow-up tasks.

Unified security view

LevelBlue said the integration links Tenable's scan results with its detection and response tools. The USM platform ingests vulnerability data and correlates it with security events from across the environment.

The company said this correlation creates a single security context. It merges threat alerts, asset data, and vulnerability information.

LevelBlue clients can also access Tenable's Vulnerability Priority Rating. This is an optional analytics feature that uses machine learning and threat intelligence to rank vulnerabilities by risk.

The rating model draws on external exploit information and internal asset data. It then assigns a priority level that security teams can use in planning remediation work.

Offer for partners

LevelBlue said the change also affects its partner ecosystem. Managed security service providers that use LevelBlue's USM platform will now be able to extend Tenable-based scanning to their own customers under the same unlimited model.

The company said this creates a new selling point for partners. They can include vulnerability assessment as part of broader managed security packages without extra tooling.

LevelBlue said partners will not need to manage separate Tenable deployments or separate billing arrangements. They will consume the scanning function through the existing USM environment.

The company said the partnership structure reduces operational complexity for partners. It also standardises the vulnerability management process across partner client bases.

From bugs to exposure

LevelBlue said the scanning function is one component of a broader exposure management approach. The vendor defines exposure management as the process of translating raw technical findings into risk-focused information for business stakeholders.

The USM platform correlates Tenable vulnerability data with live detection events across networks, endpoints, and cloud resources. It brings these data sources together in dashboards and reports.

LevelBlue said clients can prioritise vulnerabilities based on exploit intelligence and the importance of affected assets. The platform highlights issues that attackers are more likely to use in real incidents.

The system supports automation of remediation through integrations with IT service management and security operations tools. These integrations can create tickets or trigger workflows when the platform identifies high-priority vulnerabilities.

Clients can track the status of remediation work and measure changes in risk exposure over time. The platform records historical data on vulnerabilities, applied fixes, and outstanding issues.

LevelBlue said this combination of scanning, analytics, and workflow offers organisations better control over their security posture. The company said it expects demand for integrated exposure management services to grow as infrastructure spreads across more locations and providers.
