New Relic & AWS launch AI observability tools for faster response

Wed, 3rd Dec 2025

New Relic is expanding its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a new set of integrations, providing artificial intelligence capabilities and observability insights directly within AWS AI services. The collaboration is intended to help developers, operations teams, and incident responders diagnose and resolve technical issues more rapidly, while also enabling improved security management and business insights.

AI-driven observability

The new capabilities link New Relic's MCP Server with AWS DevOps Agent and Amazon Quick Suite. This integration allows AI assistants to access detailed observability data directly, embedding insights such as root cause analysis and business impact into engineers' day-to-day workflows. When an issue is detected, the AWS DevOps Agent or Amazon Quick Suite can trigger the New Relic MCP Server to generate and deliver incident insights, aiming to minimise manual investigation and speed up problem resolution.

The integration is intended to reduce the complexity of incident management for AWS customers, providing technical and business context in a single place. By doing so, organisations may be able to keep business systems online more consistently and reduce response times when outages occur.

Enhanced business context

New Relic's AI features now connect directly to the Amazon Q index, a search service designed to retrieve and consolidate an enterprise's data through a single API. This link allows engineers to receive answers to incident-related queries that draw from the company's organisational data, supporting both technical and compliance needs.

This development addresses common problems faced by DevOps teams, whose workflows can be hampered by data silos and difficulties in contextualising incidents. By integrating New Relic AI with the Amazon Q index, users can bring together information such as deployment notes, internal policies, and incident playbooks faster, streamlining the resolution process and potentially reducing downtime costs.

Security integration

New Relic is also introducing Security RX Cloud for AWS environments. This service provides DevOps and DevSecOps teams with unified security insights, allowing for the prioritisation of security risks and faster remediation of vulnerabilities. The integration enables security operations from within the existing development environments, supporting automation for handling infrastructure-as-code vulnerabilities across command line interfaces and configuration templates like Terraform and CloudFormation.

AWS customers receive a consolidated view of their cloud assets, vulnerabilities, and operational configurations, with the aim of facilitating improved coordination across IT and security teams. This visibility is intended to give security teams a better understanding of their overall cloud security posture and help direct remediation efforts more effectively.

SAP observability

New Relic's monitoring solution for SAP applications is now offered on AWS Marketplace. This provides a native connector to SAP systems and related technologies, allowing users to gain observability into their business processes without needing to deploy new agents within their SAP environments. The approach is designed to minimise the risk of disruption to critical business systems caused by monitoring deployments, which can often result in costly downtime for organisations.

The company is also referenced in updated technical documentation for the RISE with SAP offering on AWS, which covers best practices in observability for enterprises running SAP in the cloud.

"As organisations increasingly adopt AI and agentic workforces, leaders realise that observability isn't optional - it's a prerequisite for running AI in production. Our integrations with AWS harness the power of agentic AI to predict issues so businesses can go beyond the black box with full-stack AI observability to speed up trouble-shooting and decision making. This fosters business growth and agentic AI in production at scale."
