Blackline Safety wins ADNOC deal for 28,000 gas detectors

Mon, 25th Aug 2025

Blackline Safety has received its first purchase order from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) under a new long-term agreement for up to 28,000 gas detectors and services.

Initial deployment

The order includes approximately 1,000 G6 wearable single-gas detectors, each with four years of service, and 1,200 Blackline Location Beacons to strengthen location tracking within ADNOC's facilities. The agreement was facilitated through Blackline's channel partner, Al Masaood.

ADNOC, a major energy producer generating over 4 million barrels of oil per day and significant volumes of natural gas, will deploy the technology to help protect their operational workforce in the region.

According to Blackline Safety, the rollout aims to enhance the safety of frontline workers by deploying connected safety monitoring devices and infrastructure, supporting ADNOC's focus on operational reliability and worker protection.

Middle East growth strategy

"This first order under the new agreement with ADNOC is an important milestone in our multi-year growth strategy in the Middle East," said Andrea Lamond, Vice President, Growth Operations and Interim VP of International Sales, Blackline Safety. "Through our partnership with ADNOC and Al Masaood, we are investing in the region and delivering advanced connected worker technology that helps protect workers while improving operational efficiency."

The G6 wearable device is designed to detect hazardous gases and provide real-time location information. According to Blackline Safety, the G6 enables emergency responders to locate personnel rapidly in the event of an incident. The order also includes Blackline Location Beacons, which are used to improve location accuracy in areas where GPS coverage may be unreliable or unavailable, such as indoor environments within processing facilities.

Blackline Safety's operations in the Middle East have increased notably over the last three years, with the company's connected safety solutions now used across several energy companies in the area. The agreement with ADNOC is indicative of demand within the region for integrated safety solutions that combine wearable monitoring devices, cloud-based analytics software, and live response capabilities.

The connected safety ecosystem offered by Blackline Safety allows companies to monitor their workforces, receive alerts, and respond more efficiently to workplace incidents, even in challenging working conditions.

Blackline Safety also cites its predictive analytics capabilities as a tool for companies aiming to reduce safety incidents as well as improve operational processes. The company's platform integrates connectivity via both cellular and satellite technology to maintain monitoring and communications links even in remote locations, providing companies with regular safety data and notification services.
