Dynatrace unveils AI log analytics to streamline logs
Dynatrace has revealed new AI-powered log analytics capabilities designed to tackle challenges associated with legacy log management systems.
Many older log management solutions tend not to integrate well with current monitoring tools, leading to operational delays, increased costs, and heightened security risks. Dynatrace seeks to address these issues through its enhanced log capabilities and a new streamlined approach.
Among the key innovations being introduced is the Davis AI Integration. This AI engine promises to offer instant explanations of log content to users, thereby making complex analytics tasks more accessible throughout an organisation. It supports natural language queries allowing users to build dashboards and generate reports without needing extensive training on technical query languages.
The platform also features a Natural Language Interface designed to democratise log analytics across various teams via intuitive search and filtering capabilities.
OpenPipeline Technology is another highlight, enabling automatic enrichment of ingested logs with essential IT contexts, such as Kubernetes environment details. This capability is aimed at driving faster understanding and facilitating effective analysis. Pre-processing of common technologies allows for quicker searches and filters, thus providing rapid responses to business needs.
Furthermore, Dynatrace has introduced a Simplified Pricing Model featuring a new structure that includes queries. This is designed to help organisations better predict yearly costs and efficiently scale their log management pursuits, especially in high-query use cases, without the burden of monitoring usage manually for cost control.
There is reported high demand among enterprise customers for the integration of log analytics into their existing observability strategies. Over 1,000 customers currently use Dynatrace Logs solutions, with more than 50 percent of new users in the past year already leveraging log analytics.
A recent Gartner report highlights the crucial nature of monitoring and analysis for understanding modern IT systems. The report emphasises that traditional manual methods fall short in addressing the complexities of current environments. Techniques like telemetry pipelines simplify the processes of data extraction, processing, and analysis, offering valuable insights while managing costs effectively.
Diego Enciso, Observability Specialist at NEQUI, remarked on the utility of Dynatrace's Log Analytics capabilities: "Dynatrace embodies relentless innovation, as evidenced by its Log Analytics capabilities, which have been instrumental in fuelling our business growth. Dynatrace simplifies log analytics and allows us to extract more meaningful insights from our data that we can then extend across our organisation. With insights from Dynatrace, we have seen significant reduction across our MTTI and MTTR."
Mala Pillutla, Vice President of Log Management at Dynatrace, stated: "I am passionate about the value that correlated data insights provide and I am excited to build innovative solutions that empower our customers to drive better business outcomes. Organisations today face the challenge of managing a multitude of monitoring tools, resulting in fragmented and often conflicting insights across their critical infrastructure and applications. By providing integrated log management with in-context analytics, we enable our customers to transform data into actionable insights that help build resilience and reliability of their most critical digital assets."
