HCLTech launches DataTrustShield in Intel partnership

Today

HCLTech has unveiled DataTrustShield, an innovative data and cloud compute security solution developed in collaboration with Intel. This launch marks a significant milestone in enhancing data protection in cloud-based environments, leveraging Intel's cutting-edge Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). Among the key technologies powering the solution are Intel Trust Domain Extensions (Intel TDX) and Intel Trust Authority, which work together to ensure secure data handling and processing.

The HCLTech DataTrustShield solution is designed to address the growing demand for robust data security in an era where businesses increasingly rely on cloud infrastructure for collaborative operations.

It provides comprehensive safeguards for sensitive data, ensuring it remains protected during storage, processing, and sharing across different platforms and stakeholders. This makes it particularly valuable for organizations operating in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, and government, where data integrity and compliance are paramount.

Key features of DataTrustShield include secure data sharing across platforms, scalability to meet the needs of enterprises of all sizes, enhanced compliance with regulatory requirements, and robust protection for applications and intellectual property. The solution was initially tested on Google Cloud, demonstrating its efficacy in securing data and compute operations. Moving forward, HCLTech plans to integrate DataTrustShield with other major hyperscalers to broaden its reach and applicability.

In a statement highlighting the importance of the new solution, Anand Swamy, Executive Vice President & Head of Tech and ISV Ecosystem at HCLTech, said: "The HCLTech DataTrustShield offering represents a major step forward in data security, delivering high levels of protection. By harnessing Intel's advanced technology, the offering secures digital assets and enhances confidence and trust in cloud environments."

Intel, a critical partner in this initiative, emphasized the role of its technologies in driving the solution's capabilities. Purnam Sheth, Vice President and General Manager of Trust and Security Services at Intel, remarked:
"Intel's Confidential Computing technology and Trust Authority attestation services enhance security and assurance for compute environments. Our collaboration with HCLTech highlights our commitment to helping customers transition to the cloud while maintaining data privacy and adhering to zero trust principles."

The introduction of DataTrustShield aligns with the growing emphasis on zero trust architecture—a cybersecurity framework that assumes no implicit trust and continuously verifies each interaction for potential risks.

By leveraging Intel's confidential computing technology, DataTrustShield ensures data remains encrypted even during processing, effectively mitigating the risks of unauthorized access and data breaches.

As businesses increasingly embrace digital transformation, solutions like HCLTech DataTrustShield play a pivotal role in fostering trust and ensuring the seamless adoption of cloud services. With plans to expand its integration across other hyperscalers, the solution is set to become a cornerstone in the cloud security landscape, empowering organizations to confidently navigate the complexities of the modern digital world.
