Schneider Electric tops global sustainability ranking again
Schneider Electric has been once again recognised for its efforts in sustainable practices, receiving the top ranking in the Canalys 'Global Sustainable Ecosystems Leadership Matrix' for the second consecutive time.
The company shares this prestigious position alongside Lenovo, HP, and Dell, highlighting its commitment to sustainable innovation and support of channel partners. This accolade reflects Schneider Electric's dedication to helping partners manage sustainability goals, particularly in the context of increasing AI and data centre expansion.
A key aspect of the Canalys ranking is the assessment of sustainability leadership, corporate sustainability strategies, and transparency on progress and transformation. The matrix also considers channel partner feedback, with Schneider Electric rated highly due to its reputation for sustainability, the provision of partner-oriented resources, and efforts to promote a circular economy.
The 'Global Sustainable Ecosystems Leadership Matrix' is a relatively new publication, with its first edition released in 2023, where Schneider Electric also received recognition as a Champion. This continued recognition underscores the company's sustained commitment to sustainable practices.
Farokh Ghadially, Vice President, Secure Power at Schneider Electric, stated, "To be one of only four companies to be named Champions twice shows just how difficult it is to be on the leading edge of this important mission and reaffirms our commitment to leading the charge in sustainability and efficiency.
"While we are proud of this achievement, the journey toward a more sustainable future never ends. We will continue to refine and reimagine the future of the industry and how we can help our partners meet their decarbonisation targets," Ghadially said.
Schneider Electric's initiatives include energy assessments and audits, as well as the launch of Zeigo Activate, a subscription-based SaaS solution for channel partners. Other initiatives include the mySchneider IT Partner Program, Sustainability School for partners, and Sustainability Impact Awards designed to recognise partners and suppliers embracing sustainability.
Significantly, the company also offers a Lifecycle CO2e TradeOff tool, which is the first of its kind for estimating the total carbon footprint of data centres, covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
Elsa Nightingale, Principal ESG Analyst at Canalys, commented, "Schneider Electric has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting its partners with the development of their sustainability strategies and helping their customers make headway on meeting their sustainability objectives. A vendor's position in the Canalys Sustainable Ecosystems Leadership Matrix is based on channel partner feedback, industry leadership in sustainability and Canalys analyst assessments. Champions have proven the highest levels of excellence in moving the channel ecosystem toward a more sustainable future while simultaneously advancing their own corporate sustainability strategies."
Schneider Electric's efforts to support partners in sustainability are an integral part of its approach, aligning with global trends towards sustainable business practices in the tech industry.
