Solace launches PubSub+ Micro-Integrations for data mesh

Today

Solace has launched a new addition to its PubSub+ platform with Micro-Integrations, aiming to enhance real-time data management across different enterprise systems.

Solace PubSub+ Micro-Integrations are designed as small, lightweight modules that facilitate event-driven integration across various enterprise technologies, including both legacy systems and modern applications like SaaS and AI. These modules are focused on connecting data sources to an event mesh for real-time information exchange. Each micro-integration features connectors and processors that help transform event data, enabling seamless operation among different systems.

The newly introduced Micro-Integrations aim to address limitations of traditional, centralized integration solutions in terms of latency, complexity, and scalability. These solutions often struggle with performance bottlenecks and intricate network configurations. In contrast, Solace PubSub+ Micro-Integrations allow for improved performance by managing connectivity and data transformations closer to the systems involved in the event mesh.

Jeff Pollock, Vice President of Products and Cloud Services for Data Replication, Streaming Data and DB Migrations at Oracle, commented, "Over the years many things have changed, but the driving business need to do more workloads in real-time has not. As we move forward into the future, there will always be more demand for real-time data and not less. Nobody wants to go backwards to the old days when everything was batch processing." He added, "With the new Oracle GoldenGate integration to Solace, we have connected the best of distributed data mesh with the best of distributed event mesh architectures, empowering our customers to move forward with modern real-time solutions for AI, analytics and event-driven architectures."

The company states that the PubSub+ Micro-Integrations also offer increased flexibility for enterprises by allowing easy integration of new technologies such as AI agents, vector databases, and large language models that facilitate generative AI operations. This modular approach enables enterprises to adapt to evolving technology landscapes without the risk associated with tightly coupled integration systems.

Scalability is another focus, as the Micro-Integrations facilitate scaling through the deployment of additional instances at various endpoints, effectively managing increased data traffic and distribution needs. The feature replaces the complexity of traditional point-to-point integrations with a publish/subscribe model that improves transparency and troubleshooting capabilities.

According to Carl Lehmann, Senior Research Analyst, Applied Infrastructure & DevOps at S&P Global Market Intelligence, "Enterprises have been accelerating their investments in application modernization to realize the benefits of cloud-native technologies. They are also aiming to enhance the execution of their digital business operations through continuous analysis of real-time data generated from IT and business events. They are seeking to become event-driven enterprises that maintain a constant state of awareness and are highly responsive to change, risk and opportunity."

Shawn McAllister, Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Solace, highlighted the revolutionary potential of the new offering, stating, "Solace PubSub+ Micro-Integrations are about to revolutionize the integration of applications in much the same way microservices changed the game for applications themselves – by decomposing monolithic integration flows into smaller, more manageable, purpose-built components. In doing so, Solace Micro-Integrations will enable the event-driven integration it will take to meet the performance, reliability, agility and scalability needs of increasingly connected, real-time, and intelligent enterprises."

Now generally available, Solace offers a variety of cloud-managed and self-managed PubSub+ Micro-Integrations for multiple applications, working in collaboration with other leading integration vendors to complement existing solutions. These integrations include offerings for popular systems like SAP, Salesforce, and Oracle GoldenGate, among others, and collaboration with integration platforms such as Boomi, Mulesoft, and SAP.

Solace continues to support numerous enterprises across the globe, offering solutions that are present in significant portions of industries such as finance, telecommunications, and consumer goods, as well as playing roles in digital government initiatives in various countries. The ongoing efforts aim to foster a shift towards decentralized, event-driven enterprise architectures that can efficiently manage modern data environments.
