11:11 Systems has acquired select IBM VMware Cloud Service Provider enterprise customers in its eighth VMware-related transaction.

The acquisition expands its customer base across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and South America. It also deepens 11:11 Systems' work in enterprise migrations tied to cloud infrastructure, connectivity, cyber resilience and recovery services.

Terms were not disclosed.

The purchase comes as Broadcom reshapes the VMware Cloud Service Provider partner programme. 11:11 Systems has positioned itself as a destination for providers looking to move customers onto its platform.

The company has grown through a series of VMware-focused acquisitions in recent years, including iland Cloud, Green Cloud Defence, Unitas Global, Sungard Availability Services, Faction, Ntirety and Digital Sense.

With the IBM customer acquisition, 11:11 Systems has now completed 11 acquisitions in total. The latest deal adds to its push to build scale in managed infrastructure and VMware services for enterprise users.

Brett Diamond, Chief Executive Officer of 11:11 Systems, said large customers are reassessing their infrastructure choices.

"Enterprises today are crossing the Rubicon into a new era of cloud, containers and private AI, and the path forward requires both fortitude and practical guidance," said Brett Diamond, Chief Executive Officer of 11:11 Systems. "11:11 Systems was built for that role. With our resilient platform, deep VMware and cloud expertise and global reach, we help customers modernise on their terms, protect the applications and data that matter most and make the infrastructure decisions today that turn into a competitive advantage in the future."

Partner shift

Broadcom linked the deal to its channel strategy for VMware-related services. The software group has been narrowing its focus to partners it believes can support larger, more complex customer estates.

"Broadcom's Cloud Service Provider strategy is centred on partners that can deliver the operational discipline, technical expertise and enterprise scale our customers require," said Ram Velaga, President of the Infrastructure Software Group at Broadcom. "11:11 Systems is a partner that reflects our model. With a global platform, extensive VMware experience, more than 6,000 customers and a portfolio spanning cloud, connectivity and security, they are well positioned to support enterprise customers as they modernise critical workloads utilising VMware Cloud Foundation."

The transaction highlights continued consolidation in the VMware partner market as service providers respond to changes in vendor programmes and customer demand. For enterprise users running VMware environments, provider scale and continuity have become more important considerations as cloud strategies evolve.

11:11 Systems said the acquired customers will be supported through its global platform. It described the IBM customer purchase as aligned with IBM and Broadcom on customer experience, innovation and long-term service continuity.

Advisers on the transaction included Moelis & Company and Fifth Third Securities for 11:11 Systems, with Cooley as legal adviser.
