ABBYY, a company specialising in AI for intelligent automation, is expanding its operations in India with the establishment of new research and development facilities and a Center of Excellence. The new offices, located in Bengaluru and New Delhi, respectively, aim to bolster ABBYY's capabilities to deliver customised solutions and effectively support its global partners and customers.
Yathiraj Shetty Kasargod has been appointed Director of Product Operations for ABBYY India, leading the new expansions. Expressing his enthusiasm for the development, Ulf Persson, Chief Executive Officer at ABBYY, stated, "We are excited to expand our global footprint by opening a new R&D center and Center of Excellence in India. India's vibrant tech ecosystem and unrivalled talent offer tremendous opportunities for organisations to leverage our AI-powered intelligent automation offerings. I welcome Yathiraj to the ABBYY team as we mark this strategic milestone in our commitment to better serve our customers and partners."
The increasing demand for ABBYY AI in India was evident during the recent ABBYY AI Pulse Developer Conference held in Bengaluru from 24 to 25 July, which saw attendance figures triple compared to previous years. Forrester projected that technology spending in India is expected to increase to USD $54.5 billion by 2027, with a notable rise in investments in AI-augmented software and services. This growth is driven by the global demand for AI and automation technologies that aim to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.
Yathiraj Shetty Kasargod commented on his new role: "It is a pleasure to join ABBYY and spearhead the expansion in India to enhance and diversify our capabilities. I look forward to working with the global ABBYY team to meet customers where they do business."
The new R&D centre and Center of Excellence in India will see ABBYY hiring new talent, complementing its existing research and development infrastructure across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. ABBYY's current development centres are located in Hungary, Serbia, Cyprus, and the United States. Additionally, ABBYY has a presence in other parts of the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia.
Over a dozen analysts have recognised ABBYY for its contributions to intelligent document processing and process intelligence solutions. The company's approach to AI aims to provide tangible business value for enterprises worldwide, addressing various industry requirements, ad hoc processes, and documents in multiple languages.
ABBYY's expansion in India marks a strategic move to enhance its global R&D capabilities and better support its growing customer base. With new facilities in Bengaluru and New Delhi, the company is poised to leverage India's tech talent to further develop its AI-driven intelligent automation solutions, aligning with the rising demand for advanced technology across industries.
