Ansarada and Legora have launched an integration that lets users import documents from Ansarada data rooms into Legora. The feature is in beta for Legora customers with access to an Ansarada room.

It lets deal teams browse Ansarada data rooms within Legora and move selected documents or folders into a Legora project while preserving the original folder structure. The integration is aimed at legal and transaction work, including due diligence, drafting and closing checklists.

Users sign in with their own Ansarada credentials, and Legora displays only the rooms, folders and documents they are already permitted to access under Ansarada's permissions. Each document imported into Legora is also recorded in Ansarada's audit trail under the user's name.

The move addresses a common issue in live transactions: documents are stored in a virtual data room, while review and drafting take place in separate software. As a result, lawyers and deal teams often have to download files, recreate the folder structure and upload the documents again before work can begin.

Under the new set-up, users can select documents or folders in Legora and import them into a project in one step. Once imported, they can use Legora's tools to summarise documents, extract key terms, compare files side by side and prepare closing materials.

Deal workflow

The integration is likely to be particularly relevant for law firms and in-house legal teams in Australia and New Zealand, where Ansarada has an established presence in transaction work. Ansarada focuses on virtual data rooms for mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and restructures, while Legora provides software for legal research, review and drafting.

Legora says it is used by more than 130,000 legal professionals across more than 2,000 law firms and in-house legal teams in more than 80 markets. It positions the platform as a single workspace for legal tasks across complex matters.

For transaction teams, the main operational challenge is often not document access but moving documents between systems. By connecting a data room directly to a legal work platform, the integration is intended to remove manual handling while keeping the original access controls in place.

Ansarada also said room administrators would retain visibility over document movements through existing audit records. That may matter in transactions where control over sensitive information and a clear record of access are central to the process.

Michael Dean, Chief Operating Officer at Ansarada, said the integration was designed to keep those controls intact while linking the data room to legal AI tools.

"Ansarada exists to keep deal information secure and every step of a transaction accounted for," Dean said.

"Connecting with Legora gives mutual customers a direct route from the data room into legal AI, on the terms their room administrators have already set."

Heather Paterson, Vice-President of Revenue, APAC, at Legora, said the link reflected how many transaction teams in Australia and New Zealand already work.

"Ansarada has been part of how deals get done in Australia and New Zealand for two decades, and many of our customers here run their transactions through it," Paterson said.

"Bringing those data rooms into Legora reinforces our position as the legal operating system for end-to-end legal work, as deal teams can take data room documents from first review all the way to closing without having to leave the Legora platform."
