Thu, 27th Mar 2025

Cloudera has announced the appointment of Leo Brunnick as its new Chief Product Officer.

Leo Brunnick, a seasoned technology executive with over three decades of experience in leading technology teams, will now spearhead Cloudera's product and technology advancement. Previously the Chief Operating Officer at Naviga, Brunnick's new role will see him collaborating closely with Cloudera's CEO, Charles Sansbury, and the wider leadership team.

"Leo's experience guiding high-performing teams and translating customer needs into platform excellence will be invaluable to Cloudera as we continue to lead the data, analytics, and AI markets," remarked Charles Sansbury, CEO of Cloudera. "With Leo officially onboard, Cloudera is set to continue accelerating product innovation to provide our customers with the most robust hybrid solution on the market."

By joining Cloudera, Brunnick aims to contribute to the company's pursuit of delivering comprehensive hybrid data and AI services both on-premises and cloud-based. Speaking on his decision to join Cloudera, Brunnick stated, "Not many companies today understand that enterprises require flexibility to successfully deploy new solutions, but Cloudera clearly has that down. Cloudera is the only data platform provider that offers both robust on-premises and cloud-native data and AI services to enable a truly hybrid experience behind customer firewalls. These capabilities, combined with the incredible AI talent and growing ecosystem of partners, are what drew me to the company."

Brunnick brings to Cloudera extensive experience from his tenure at Naviga, where he managed a team of over 600 professionals in product, marketing, engineering, and customer support. His previous leadership roles at Vignette, including EVP of Engineering, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Marketing Officer, further amplify his expertise in product and team management.

Holding a bachelor's degree in general engineering from Harvard University and an MBA from Georgia State University, Brunnick also served as an officer in the Marine Corps, which contributes to his leadership and operational acumen.

Cloudera continues to position itself as a provider of hybrid data, analytics, and AI solutions, emphasising its capacity to manage diverse types of data across various platforms and providing tools for both in-cloud and on-premises environments. The addition of Leo Brunnick to its leadership heralds a continued focus on product innovation and customer-centric solutions.
