CommScope unveils Propel XFrame for high-performance centres

Today

CommScope has launched its latest addition to the Propel portfolio with the introduction of the Propel XFrame solution designed for high-performance data centres.

The Propel XFrame solution is a compact, floor-mounted fibre frame engineered to simplify and expedite the management of high-density data centre requirements. Aimed at addressing the evolving demands of data centres and high-performance computing facilities, the solution offers a versatile and adaptable infrastructure option.

Erik Gronvall, Vice President of Data Centre Strategy and Technology at CommScope, commented, "We believe that the Propel XFrame solution is the answer to our data centre customers' most pressing needs. The accelerating pace of data centre evolution necessitates scalable solutions that work within the limits of available space, time and budget— this solution addresses that."

Gronvall further explained the solution's capacity to manage the infrastructure demands posed by advancements such as AI deployments and high-density fibre mesh architectures. "This solution has a flexible modular design allowing for faster and easier changes or reconfigurations with fibre connections as networks evolve," he added.

The Propel XFrame solution is designed to optimise data centre space with its low profile and offers various deployment configurations. This adaptability allows it to be placed against a wall, set up back-to-back, or used as a freestanding frame, thereby maximising deployment agility.

In addition to spatial efficiency, the system expands data centre manager options by maximising the use of Propel components and panels, and supports multiple standardised connector types. This versatility is emphasised in its potential to help reduce labour costs by providing front access to all panels, which simplifies management.

The deployment of horizontal and vertical cable management systems within the Propel XFrame ensures more organised cabling, which is designed to facilitate faster and more accurate moves, additions, and modifications of network setups.

This modular solution offers a simplification in managing high-density fibre cross-connects, employing single-length patch cords alongside preterminated breakout assemblies and splicing.

The product will be available globally by the end of Q2, providing a new option for data centre operators looking to enhance performance and scalability in their facilities.
