HighPoint Technologies has launched the RocketStor 8000 Series eGPU Expansion Chassis, designed to bring high-end graphics performance to Mini-PCs and compact workstations. Leveraging its advanced PCIe Switching technology and CDFP/CopperLink cabling, the chassis enables smaller systems, often limited to a single PCIe slot, to run full-sized, high-performance GPUS efficiently.
This makes it a suitable option for both content creators and gamers, as it supports full-height, 2-slot, and 3-slot GPUs from top-tier manufacturers such as NVIDIA and AMD. Whether you need a powerful RTX card or the latest Radeon GPU, the RocketStor 8000 Series offers the flexibility and performance to meet those demands.
Each chassis in the series can supply up to 600w of direct power, which is crucial for delivering consistent frame rates, reducing visual stutter, and avoiding performance artefacts. Unlike traditional eGPU solutions that rely on Thunderbolt or OCuLink, this chassis uses a dedicated PCIe x16 connection. This ensures the system benefits from maximum bandwidth and minimal latency, keeping applications responsive and smooth even under heavy workloads.
Despite its compact size—measuring just 6.57 by 4.33 inches—the host adapter is designed to integrate easily into small-form-factor PCs, desktops, and rackmount systems, without compromising on performance or expandability.

The RocketStor 8000 Series includes the RocketStor 8531aw PCIe Gen 4 x16 chassis at launch, with a PCIe Gen 5 model—the RocketStor 8631cw—expected to join the lineup in the future.
