Ishan plans INR ₹300 crore boost to AI-ready network

Wed, 28th Jan 2026

Ishan Technologies has set out a ₹300 crore investment plan for expansion of what it describes as AI-ready digital infrastructure across India.

The company said the roadmap covers connectivity, sovereign cloud, cybersecurity, and platform-based infrastructure. It said it plans deeper coverage in metro areas and in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. It also flagged expansion into new and emerging markets in India.

Ishan said it employs more than 2,000 people across engineering, network operations, cloud, cybersecurity, and managed services. It said it expects to increase headcount by 20% over the next two years. The company said it will focus on building regional talent pools.

Platform shift

Ishan said it is moving from standalone telecom services to a platform-led model. The company said the model combines data networks, cloud interconnect, MPLS, SASE, and bandwidth-on-demand under a single umbrella.

Ishan said the approach addresses demand trends it sees in India around AI adoption, cloud interconnectivity, and data governance.

Pinkesh Kotecha, Chairman & Managing Director, Ishan Technologies, linked the investment plan to changes in customer requirements and network design.

"Our journey has been about building digital infrastructure that creates meaningful connections and stands the test of time. As cloud becomes sovereign by necessity and networks move toward software-driven models in 2026, the real differentiator will be platforms that bring security, performance, and resilience together end-to-end. With investments in AI-led network optimisation, intelligent automation, and customer experience solutions, we are focused on making digital infrastructure more adaptive, efficient, and responsive to real business needs," said Pinkesh Kotecha, Chairman & Managing Director, Ishan Technologies.

National footprint

Ishan said it was founded in 2000 and has operated for 25 years. The company said it has grown from a regional ISP into a national provider with operations in more than 100 locations.

Ishan said its assets and services include owned fibre networks, a National Long Distance licence, edge points of presence, and data centre infrastructure. It also referenced "Rated 3 data centre capabilities".

The company also pointed to its status with central government programmes and procurement lists. It said it is empanelled with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology as a Cloud Service Provider. It said it is empanelled under the IndiaAI initiative as a digital infrastructure provider.

Ishan said it follows CMMI Level 3-certified delivery processes assessed by KPMG.

Sector focus

Ishan said it has worked on projects for enterprises and public institutions. It listed government, aviation, banking and financial services, and national digital platforms as areas where it has delivered large implementations.

The company framed its strategy around domestic infrastructure priorities. It cited digital sovereignty, secure infrastructure, and trusted domestic alternatives.

Ishan is headquartered in Gujarat. The company said it expects the state to emerge as a hub for AI, digital infrastructure, and data-led industries over the next decade.

Ishan also outlined a growth target for the next phase of the business. It said it aims for a 10× scale over the next three to four years as it moves further towards what it called a platform model.
