Wed, 20th Mar 2024

Global digital managed services provider, Logicalis, has become the first partner worldwide to obtain Cisco’s Sustainable Campus Access add-on specialisation. The specialisation signifies the firm's staunch dedication to sustainability, having previously secured the Cisco Environmental Sustainability specialisation across 15 territories globally.

The award recognises Logicalis' contribution to lowering carbon emissions related to digital infrastructure for its customers. Its work in this area primarily involves aiding customers adopt sustainable business strategies while offering leading managed service solutions. The initiatives undertaken by Logicalis include power consumption tracking and reporting, equipment renewal with energy-saving replacements, and responsible e-waste recycling.

To receive this specialisation, Logicalis proved its sustainable credentials via a comprehensive Cisco audit. Within this evaluation, the company demonstrated optimal hardware use, effective reduction of energy consumption, efficient product tracking and reporting using telemetry, and safe disposal of end-of-use equipment.

Logicalis’ sustainability reporting abilities are manifested through its Digital Fabric Platform (DFP). Introduced in 2023, the DFP offers chief information officers a real-time glimpse into the performance of their comprehensive digital ecosystem across five metrics - sustainability, reliability, security, economics, and user experience. The platform sets the bar against industry standards and suggests strategies to minimise power consumption and update, recycle, and streamline equipment.

Toby Alcock, Global Chief Technology Officer at Logicalis, commented, "We are thrilled to have achieved Cisco’s Sustainable Campus Access add-on specialisation, building on our established sustainable campus customer solutions. This achievement highlights Logicalis's continuous efforts to push the sustainable agenda forward and our commitment to being an example for others in the tech industry. We look forward to continuing our work with Cisco to drive sustainability initiatives forward."

Denise Lee, Vice President of Cisco's Engineering Sustainability Office, expressed her sentiments on the partnership, articulating that "sustainability is core to the partnership between Logicalis and Cisco. This recognition of Logicalis' expanding capabilities in sustainability managed services highlights how they are adding purpose-driven business opportunities to their portfolio of solutions. We are thrilled to continue this partnership and for the impact yet to come."

The awarding of this specialisation follows Logicalis winning the inaugural Cisco Global Sustainability Partner of the Year at the 2023 Cisco Partner Summit. The award was in recognition of its exceptional sustainability performance and success in helping customers reduce the environmental impact of their information technology (IT) infrastructure worldwide.
