Cities and software partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa are using Nvidia's AI and digital twin tools for urban operations, spanning local government, transport, buildings and public services.

Nvidia identified deployments and pilots in the UK, France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden and other markets. Partners include ABA Technology, Akila, Galene AI, Honeywell Technologies, K2K, Linker Vision, Milestone, Onetera, ThinkDeep and Younite AI.

The work focuses on systems that analyse video, sensor and historical data to support decisions on infrastructure repairs, mobility management and energy use in public assets. Nvidia's Cosmos models, Metropolis Blueprint for video search and summarisation, Nemotron models and Omniverse libraries are being used to build AI agents and digital twins for those tasks.

UK projects

In the UK, the Liverpool City Region is exploring work with K2K on AI factories built with Nvidia accelerated computing, Cosmos and the video search and summarisation blueprint. The tests focus on mobility and safety applications in urban planning and public services.

The Island of Jersey is also working with K2K on projects linked to decision-making, mobility, urban planning, clean energy and public services. Innovation City Belfast is exploring a pilot with the same partner covering smart mobility, transport systems, citizen safety, and event and response management.

French roll-out

In France, the Department of Côte-d'Or worked with Akila and ThinkDeep to build operations agents in a sovereign digital twin using Nemotron, Omniverse and accelerated computing. Cosmos is due to be adopted for video data in that project.

The system covers more than 500 public buildings and supports energy, compliance, safety and climate resilience. According to Nvidia, the agents cut document search time from weeks to minutes and reduced total operating costs by 10%, with a target of 30% at scale.

Elsewhere in France, Port Sud de France in Sète is using ThinkDeep's platform to analyse cargo and safety data, coordinate operations, and guide the handling of hazardous materials.

Italian expansion

In the Milan region, Galene AI, Dell Technologies and TD Synnex are deploying a locally operated AI factory, starting with Cinisello Balsamo and planning to extend it to four more municipalities. Listed services include real-time translation, citizen chatbots and support for procurement and funding work.

The aim is to reduce administrative effort and speed access to municipal data while keeping governance of that data at local level.

Ports and cities

At the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in Belgium, Milestone and Dell Technologies are testing agentic vision AI for use cases including oil-spill warnings. The work uses Cosmos and the video search and summarisation blueprint, alongside synthetic data for scenarios where real-world incident data is limited.

In Sweden, Younite AI is developing a digital twin experience for Gothenburg using Omniverse libraries as part of the EU's Citiverse initiative. The focus is on accessibility, including previews of event entrances, seating and crowd conditions before arrival.

The broader goal is to adapt these applications to local requirements and extend them across departments and neighbouring municipalities, including in places such as Wroclaw in Poland.

Infrastructure layer

Nvidia also outlined the infrastructure stack being assembled around these projects. System builders and infrastructure partners including Cisco, Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo and Supermicro are packaging Nvidia computing, networking and storage into locally operated AI factories for cities.

These systems are intended to let public bodies customise and run AI applications locally while retaining control over data, models and operations. Nvidia also named Nebius and Net Zero Compute as part of the ecosystem building AI factories aimed at reducing the cost of agentic services.

Consultancies including EY and Accenture are providing integration and operational work to connect applications with city systems. That support is intended to help local authorities create repeatable deployment blueprints that can be adapted across departments as needs change.

Outside Europe, Honeywell Technologies is deploying Forge Cognition at the Dubai Fairmont Hotel using Nvidia Nemotron, Cosmos, Omniverse and the video search and summarisation blueprint to connect AI agents with building systems for reliability, energy efficiency and operations.
