Siemens expands Xcelerator cloud services for complete lifecycle

Siemens Xcelerator as a Service is extending its reach across product lifecycle stages with the introduction of new cloud services for design, simulation, and operations, as well as product lifecycle management (PLM). The announcement was made by Joe Bohman, Executive Vice President, PLM Products, Siemens Digital Industries Software at the Realize LIVE Americas conference.

The novel additions to the Siemens Xcelerator as a Service portfolio include industry-leading software solutions like NX X, Zel X, Opcenter X, Simcenter X and Teamcenter X Essentials. These services are designed to be available on-demand and accessible, regardless of the size of the organisation.

Siemens Xcelerator as a Service integrates all tasks and processes on one platform, allowing every facet of the value chain to collaborate effectively and simultaneously from any location. This means stakeholders will have their tools and data integrated in a single place. Importantly, these flexible, modular solutions run on the industry's most robust interoperable data backbone, which fully integrates workflows from concept development to manufacturing implementation.

A series of cloud-based solutions were introduced in this expansion: NX X is a product engineering solution that brings industry-leading technology to companies of all sizes, liberating resources to scale and focus on innovation. Similarly, the Siemens Opcenter X software for manufacturing operations management (MOM) is now part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, offering modular and inherently collaborative cloud environment.

The Simcenter X software is a new SaaS solution delivering capabilities of Siemens’ industry-leading portfolio of simulation and test solutions via the cloud. The Teamcenter X Essentials, meanwhile, is a cost-effective way to access Teamcenter X, the SaaS solution for PLM. Completing the line-up, Siemens Zel X is a next-generation browser-based application designed to streamline all aspects of manufacturing and shop-floor operations.

Siemens Xcelerator as a Service's expansion offers businesses a comprehensive range of solutions that aim to simplify IT requirements, enable collaboration across teams, and foster a focus on innovation.
