Synopsys to host AI engineering forums in Singapore

Synopsys will hold two industry forums in Singapore focused on artificial intelligence in semiconductor design and engineering simulation, bringing together engineers, researchers, customers and ecosystem partners.

The events are SNUG Singapore 2026 and Simulation World Singapore 2026. The first will focus on semiconductor design and verification, while the second will examine simulation, multiphysics engineering and digital engineering across a wider range of industries.

Singapore has been positioning itself as a base for semiconductor research, advanced manufacturing and engineering development, and Synopsys is framing the gatherings around that role. The programmes will explore how artificial intelligence is being used across product development, from chip architecture to system-level engineering.

Roger Lee, Area Vice President, Sales, Synopsys, highlighted that focus in a statement on the events.

Through SNUG Singapore and Simulation World Singapore, we're bringing together the semiconductor and engineering communities to exchange ideas, share real-world applications and shape the next generation of engineering innovation," said Roger Lee, Area Vice President, Sales, Synopsys.

Semiconductor focus

SNUG Singapore 2026 will focus on the chip sector under the theme "Re-engineering the Future of Silicon". More than 300 semiconductor engineers, technology leaders, customers and partners are expected to attend.

The agenda includes discussions on artificial intelligence in chip architecture, verification, advanced packaging and silicon engineering. The aim is to address the rising complexity of semiconductor design as developers face more demanding products and shorter development cycles.

Senior executives scheduled to deliver keynote presentations at SNUG Singapore include Mike Ellow, Chief Revenue Officer, Synopsys, and Shitalkumar Joshi, Senior Director, Synopsys. The programme also includes four technical tracks covering design implementation, signoff, verification continuum, and analog and mixed-signal design and simulation.

The conference will also feature 16 customer presentations and eight technical tutorials.

Simulation agenda

Simulation World Singapore 2026, hosted by Ansys as part of Synopsys, broadens the discussion beyond semiconductors. The one-day event will examine how simulation tools are being applied across engineering work in areas such as electronics, optics, mechanical systems and software.

Corporate and technical keynotes are scheduled from Anthony Dawson, Senior Vice President, Synopsys, and Padmesh Mandloi, Vice President, APAC, Synopsys. The event is set to include more than 34 technical sessions and 12 industry case studies.

The programme is divided into three product tracks: Fluids and Mechanical, Electronics and Optics, and Software and Systems. There will also be dedicated industry tracks covering Defence, Mobility and Transportation, Electronics and Semiconductor, and Industrial and Energy.

The split between the two forums reflects a broader shift in the engineering software market, as suppliers work to connect electronic design automation, simulation and systems engineering more closely. That mirrors customer demand for tools that support products combining silicon, software and physical systems.

For Synopsys, the Singapore events also follow the addition of Ansys to its business, strengthening its position in simulation and analysis alongside its longstanding presence in semiconductor design software and intellectual property. Bringing SNUG and Simulation World to the same market underscores that combined focus.

That matters in Singapore, where public and private investment has supported semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, research and design activity, while universities and research institutes have expanded work in artificial intelligence and advanced engineering. Industry conferences in the city-state often serve as a meeting point for multinational suppliers, regional customers and local researchers.

Participants at the two forums will include technology leaders, customers, researchers and ecosystem partners. Perspectives from organisations including A*STAR IME, the National University of Singapore and AWS are also expected to feature in discussions.

By setting one event around semiconductor workflows and the other around simulation and digital engineering, Synopsys is placing artificial intelligence at the centre of both conversations. The company's message is that engineering teams are no longer treating AI as a separate topic, but as part of routine work across design, verification and analysis.

The semiconductor sector has been one of the most active adopters of automation software because of the scale and complexity of modern chip design. Simulation users in sectors such as transport, industrial equipment and electronics are moving in a similar direction as developers seek to reduce testing time, cut physical prototyping and manage products with more software and electronics content.

Simulation World Singapore is intended to show that broader pattern through its industry case studies and technical sessions, while SNUG Singapore remains focused on practical issues in chip development. Together, the forums show how Synopsys wants to position itself across both sides of the engineering software market.

Simulation World Singapore will showcase "the latest advances in AI-powered simulation, multiphysics engineering, and digital innovation".
