Teletrac Navman unveils tools for fleet decarbonisation
Teletrac Navman has announced significant advancements in its alternative energy product suite aimed at aiding fleet operators in their decarbonisation efforts. The company's latest innovations include the Electric Vehicle Evaluator (EVE) and the Sustainability Dashboard, both designed to facilitate and track the transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric and multi-fuel options.
EVE is an electric vehicle transition platform that employs telematics data and predictive analytics to assist fleets in creating comprehensive decarbonisation plans. Mayank Sharma, Head of Global Product Management & UX at Teletrac Navman, noted, "Fleets across the globe are under increasing pressure to shift to low-carbon energy sources efficiently and cost-effectively without disrupting business operations. EVE simplifies this complex process, offering fleet managers clear guidance on the journey to alternative energy."
The EVE platform provides intelligence for three critical areas: Feasibility Planning, Financial Planning, and Infrastructure Design. The Feasibility Planning tool identifies vehicles suitable for transitioning based on trip and cargo data, while the Financial Planning element offers a detailed cost analysis, comparing the total cost of ownership (TCO) between EV and ICE vehicles. This analysis highlights which vehicles are more cost-effective to transition. The Infrastructure Design tool models efficient charging infrastructure, taking into account variables such as weather conditions, charger power, site charge fuse limits, and varying base loads. This modelling helps fleets build custom infrastructures that support ongoing business operations.
Complementing the launch of EVE is Teletrac Navman's new Sustainability Dashboard, which allows fleet managers to monitor progress against their decarbonisation targets. The Dashboard provides fleets with a score out of 100, offering an at-a-glance view of progress and simplifying internal and external reporting on emissions and fuel cost savings. It also analyses data from individual vehicles to pinpoint areas for improvement in driver performance that could impact emissions.
The Sustainability Dashboard is integrated into Teletrac Navman's AI-powered TN360 fleet management platform, thereby creating a unified interface for accessing fleet management tools and ensuring streamlined operations. Sharma highlighted the importance of support in this transition, referencing a recent TS24 telematics survey that revealed fleets' need for reliable guidance in decarbonisation efforts. Teletrac Navman's experts offer ongoing support, tailored advice, and data reviews to ensure fleets maximise the benefits of their decarbonisation solutions.
Teletrac Navman has set its sights on transforming and sustaining future industries by providing simple yet intelligent solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. With these new tools, the company aims to assist fleet operators worldwide in making a seamless and informed transition to sustainable energy sources.
