Trend Micro expands Google Cloud alliance to secure AI workloads
Trend Micro has announced the expansion of its strategic alliance with Google Cloud, making its Vision One platform and Sovereign and Private Cloud solutions available on the Google Cloud Marketplace to extend security coverage for AI workloads.
This move further builds upon Trend Micro's existing presence in the Google Cloud Marketplace, where its Cloud Security application has been downloaded over four million times for enterprise deployments.
Extended platform support
The collaboration enables organisations to access and deploy Trend Vision One and Trend Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud directly through the Google Cloud Marketplace, streamlining security management within cloud environments. The inclusion of Trend's solutions is aimed at enhancing the security of AI workloads and enabling enterprises to address compliance and data sovereignty requirements in both regulated and emerging markets.
In a statement, Karan Bajwa, President, Google Cloud Asia Pacific, said:
"Our long-time partnership with Trend Micro underscores our shared commitment to enterprise-grade security. By seamlessly extending Google Cloud's native security with Trend Micro's specialised defenses, we empower organisations to accelerate their cloud transformation journeys. This enables them to innovate securely and scale confidently in a dynamic AI era."
The new offerings allow enterprises greater flexibility when securing workloads across public, hybrid, and on-premise cloud environments. According to the companies, this is especially significant for customers who require enhanced control over sensitive data and who operate under strict regulatory constraints.
Bharat Mistry, Field CTO at Trend Micro, said:
"Among hyperscalers, we've seen Google Cloud accelerate as the most in tune with real-world demands, standing out not only for its cloud infrastructure but also for its leadership across AI, data analytics and multiple other domains. Google Cloud's hybrid- and multi-cloud approach - seamlessly supporting both public and private cloud models - reflects the growing enterprise demand for flexibility."
Continued cloud marketplace presence
Trend Micro has highlighted continued traction on the Google Workspace Marketplace, where its Cloud App Security solution has reached over four million downloads, indicating considerable enterprise uptake and ongoing demand for its cloud security products.
AI-driven anti-scam technology
The expanded partnership also introduces new collaborative work focusing on online scam prevention using artificial intelligence. Trend Micro is incorporating Google Cloud's Gemini AI via Vertex AI into its ScamCheck product, improving capabilities to counteract fraudulent activities that are estimated to result in over USD $1 trillion in losses globally each year. ScamCheck is described by Trend Micro as the first anti-scam app of its kind, now using AI to verify images and SMS content that scammers utilise to target individuals.
The partnership aims to provide organisations with 'proactive security' across cloud environments and to enhance the abilities of both enterprises and consumers to guard against digital threats as the use of AI in cyberattacks becomes more prevalent.
Targeting digital transformation and sovereignty
By supporting deployment through the Google Cloud Marketplace and enabling enhanced controls for data sovereignty, Trend Micro and Google Cloud state that the collaboration supports organisations undertaking digital transformation initiatives in line with their industry-specific compliance needs. With a particular focus on the security of AI-driven workloads and sensitive data, the companies report that the advancements are aimed at responding to the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape.
The developments are intended to benefit businesses operating in highly regulated sectors as well as those in emerging markets, offering solutions that help manage security, compliance, and sovereignty through cloud technology.
