ADLINK unveils new AI, connectivity products for rail industry

Tue, 2nd Jul 2024

ADLINK Technology has announced the launch of three new products for the railway industry: the AVA-7200 edge AI server, the AVA-1000 train-to-ground gateway, and the Passenger Information Display System (PIDS). These introductions are intended to enhance safety, efficiency, and connectivity in railway operations.

The company has stated that the AVA-7200 and AVA-1000 will advance its objectives in real-time obstacle detection and seamless passenger information delivery. Ryan Chiu, General Manager of ADLINK DMS+ & Rugged Computing BU, remarked, "The introduction of the AVA-7200, AVA-1000, and PIDS solution underscores ADLINK's commitment to driving innovation and excellence in the transportation sector. We are excited to support our customers with transformative technologies that redefine safety, efficiency, and connectivity in railway operations."

The AVA-7200, certified with EN50155 and EN45545, is equipped with NVIDIA Ampere GPGPU, promising high performance and immediate deployment readiness. It is specifically designed to enhance safety and operational efficiency by utilising AI-powered video analysis for proactive risk mitigation. This makes it ideal for numerous applications, including AI and 5G/Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as onboard servers.

The AVA-1000, on the other hand, features a fanless design that can withstand extended temperature ranges. It also incorporates advanced TPM 2.0 technology to ensure data integrity and privacy. Its compact and lightweight design is aimed at simplifying installation, which is particularly useful for rail integrators operating in space-constrained environments. Additionally, it offers uninterrupted connectivity for train-to-ground communication.

Alongside the AVA series, ADLINK is also launching a Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) that utilises AUO Tartan Display Technology. This system offers eight-panel sizes and brightness options ranging from 700 nits to 1500 nits. Clients can further customise the displays with various combinations of glass, coating, housing, and software support to meet specific requirements. According to the company, their partnership with AUO enhances the versatility and reliability of the solution. ADLINK also highlights that it is among the few firms producing these products entirely in-house to ensure high standards of quality and reliability.

ADLINK stated that its new product line is a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to innovate within the railway industry. The company believes that by leveraging these technologies, it can significantly improve various aspects of railway operations, including safety, efficiency, and passenger experience.

The launch of the AVA-7200, AVA-1000, and PIDS aligns with ADLINK’s commitment to innovation in the rapidly evolving railway industry. As technologies continue to develop, the company appears poised to offer solutions that meet the current and future needs of railway operations.
