Astrikos AI secures Gorilla backing for global rollout

Wed, 7th Jan 2026

Astrikos AI has received a strategic investment from London-headquartered Gorilla Technology Group in a deal that both companies say will underpin international expansion in smart infrastructure and AI-led urban systems.

The Bengaluru-based infrastructure intelligence specialist said the funding would back the global rollout of its Smart Interop Analytical Platform, known as S!aP. It also plans to use the relationship to extend its presence in smart cities, data centres and critical infrastructure projects.

The size and structure of the investment were not disclosed. The agreement gives Gorilla an entry point into Astrikos' Indian customer base and pipeline in sectors such as smart buildings and public infrastructure.

Astrikos develops software for real-time monitoring, prediction and optimisation across large physical assets and national systems. Its S!aP platform is currently in deployment across smart buildings, security networks, data centres and smart city infrastructure projects.

Gorilla, which is listed on Nasdaq, supplies AI-driven security intelligence, network intelligence, business intelligence and IoT solutions. It sells mainly into government, telecoms, manufacturing, transport, retail, healthcare and education markets.

Expanding markets

The deal comes as the smart infrastructure, IoT and AI-driven urban management sectors record rapid growth. Research from MarketsandMarkets cited by the companies projects that the global smart cities market will increase from about USD 699.7 billion in 2025 to USD 1,445.6 billion by 2030. That outlook implies a compound annual growth rate of 15.6 per cent.

India's AI-optimised data centre segment is forecast to grow from USD 1.19 billion in 2025 to more than USD 3.10 billion by 2030. Analysts expect a growth rate above 20 per cent in that period. The broader Indian data centre market is projected to reach USD 21.8 billion by 2030, driven by AI adoption and data localisation requirements.

Industry forecasts also suggest that global connected IoT devices could reach about 39 billion by 2030. This is expected to increase data volumes and the demand for real-time analytics across networks and physical infrastructure.

Astrikos, a NASSCOM Emerge 50 award winner, has targeted these trends with an "infrastructure intelligence" proposition. The company focuses on critical national systems and large-scale public estates, including transport, smart cities, industry 4.0 and 5.0 projects, and government-owned facilities.

Geographical reach

Gorilla said the investment gives it a route into some of the world's most active technology markets. The two companies intend to link Astrikos' software and data models with Gorilla's work in AI at the edge and in video-led security.

"Astrikos AI gives us a springboard into the United Arab Emirates, the USA, and India - all leading technology markets," said Jay Chandan, Chairman and CEO of Gorilla Technology Group. "By joining forces with Astrikos.ai, we combine their deep Indian presence and infrastructure intelligence engine with our proven delivery across the Middle East and Asia. We can deliver AI-ready national infrastructure at scale and move decisively into markets that are expanding at historic speed."

Gorilla has long focused on security intelligence and network analytics for public-sector and transport customers. The firm has stated aims in smart city programmes in the Middle East and Asia, which aligns with Astrikos' target customer set in urban infrastructure and data centres.

Product focus

Astrikos positions S!aP as an analytical layer across existing operational and information technology systems. The company says the platform ingests data from sensors, cameras and enterprise systems and then supplies what it calls operational intelligence for asset owners and operators.

Management at Astrikos describe the Gorilla partnership as a way to boost its product roadmap in edge environments and security-heavy installations. The company is targeting data centres, smart transport hubs, public infrastructure and industrial campuses where operators run mixed generations of hardware.

Dr Chinmay Hegde, CEO and Managing Director of Astrikos AI, said the investment marked an inflection point for the business.

"This investment from Gorilla Technology Group marks a pivotal moment in Astrikos AI's journey. It validates our vision of transforming Data Centres, Smart Cities, and Public Infrastructure through Real-time Operational Intelligence. With Gorilla's expertise in edge computing, intelligent video surveillance, and advanced cybersecurity, we can enhance our real-time intelligence offerings across edge devices to national command centers," said Hegde.

North American plans

Astrikos also set out growth ambitions in North America, where it already maintains operational leadership. The firm is aiming at operators of large campuses and critical facilities that face emerging requirements from AI workloads and automation projects.

Nani Iswara, Head of Operations, North America for Astrikos AI, said operators across the region are struggling with infrastructure constraints as they deploy more AI and automation tools.

"In North America, operators of Data Centres, Airports, Ports, and Large Campuses face the challenge of running more AI, GPUs, and Automation on aging or fragmented infrastructure. By drawing on Gorilla's expertise in video analytics and cybersecurity alongside Astrikos AI's infrastructure intelligence platform, customers can pursue more resilient operational intelligence," said Iswara.

Astrikos said it will now work with Gorilla on joint go-to-market activities in India, the Middle East, North America and selected Asian markets, with a focus on smart city and data centre projects over the coming years.
