Beyond has opened a new delivery centre in Manila, creating more than 200 roles.
The expansion follows the Google Cloud partner's recent moves into Argentina and Romania as it builds out its international delivery network.
Beyond plans to recruit more than 200 engineers for the Manila operation. The new centre will support global cloud delivery as demand rises for cloud and artificial intelligence projects.
The launch comes as businesses shift from AI trials to wider deployment. Industry forecasts cited by Beyond show worldwide spending on AI infrastructure, software and services is expected to rise by more than 30% year on year until 2029.
That growth is increasing demand for engineering teams that can implement and manage cloud and AI systems. Beyond said the Manila centre is intended to help meet that demand while broadening its access to technical talent in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Philippines is becoming a more important market for technology and outsourcing groups seeking engineering talent. Beyond pointed to a domestic pool of 3.7 million degree holders in science and technology, alongside forecasts that the country's tech industry will grow by more than 10% a year and reach USD $50.53 billion by 2031.
Hiring plan
The new centre will form part of Beyond's delivery organisation for customers worldwide. The company works exclusively with Google Cloud and says its client base includes Jaguar Land Rover, PayPal, NatWest, Snap and public sector institutions.
Its engineering workforce spans Europe and North America, where it says it has more than 500 Google Cloud specialist engineers. The Manila investment extends that footprint to another major delivery location in Asia.
Geoff Newell, Delivery Centre Director for APAC at Beyond, outlined the rationale for the investment in a statement on the opening.
"The Philippines offers a combination of world-class talent and a thriving technology ecosystem. We are committed to creating an environment where talented professionals can work on some of the most innovative technology challenges facing businesses today. By expanding our presence in APAC, we are strengthening our ability to support customers globally with high-quality, always-on delivery," said Newell.
Growth demand
The Manila launch comes as cloud service partners and consultancies seek more delivery capacity for enterprise transformation work. Companies in the sector are competing for engineers with experience in cloud migration, application modernisation, security and AI implementation.
Beyond has positioned itself as a Google-focused engineering business, serving organisations that need large-scale cloud projects delivered in regulated and complex environments. The new centre forms part of a broader strategy to expand its global delivery operations.
Alan Paton, Chief Executive Officer at Beyond, linked the investment to customer demand for cloud and AI work.
"This important expansion into the Philippines reflects the opportunity we see in helping organisations unlock the full potential of cloud and AI. As demand for transformation accelerates globally, we are investing in the talent, capability and delivery excellence needed to support our customers at scale," said Paton.
The recruitment drive in Manila signals that Beyond expects demand for specialist cloud engineering to remain strong as more companies move AI projects from pilot stages into mainstream operations. The Philippines centre is set to become another base for that effort, with more than 200 roles attached to the new operation.
