Blue Cloud Softech wins nod for national ISP licence
Blue Cloud Softech Solutions has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from India's Department of Telecommunications for a Unified Licence to operate a virtual network. Once it completes the required regulatory steps, the authorisation would allow the company to offer ISP Category "A" services nationwide.
The authorisation covers national area service under the Unified Licence (VNO) framework. The LoI allows the company to proceed through formal steps before the licence is issued.
Blue Cloud Softech is listed on the BSE under the ticker 539607. It positions itself as an AI-focused provider of enterprise services and cybersecurity. The licence process would add a telecoms layer to its broader digital infrastructure plans, which include data centres and cloud services.
Regulatory Steps
The LoI remains subject to prescribed compliance requirements, including payment of an entry fee, submission of a bank guarantee, and execution of the licence agreement.
Upon completion, the national ISP authorisation would allow Blue Cloud Softech to sell internet access and related network services to enterprise and public-sector customers across India under the Unified Licence framework.
Connectivity Plans
The company plans to use the authorisation as part of a wider, integrated offering that combines connectivity with data centre and cloud infrastructure. It has outlined a model linking secure network services with what it describes as AI-native data centres and a sovereign cloud platform.
Blue Cloud Softech also outlined plans for nationwide enterprise connectivity, including connecting businesses, government institutions, and remote locations through a single network. It intends to pair connectivity with its cybersecurity offering.
The company said it aims to deliver end-to-end digital infrastructure services, including internet access, compute, storage, and managed services.
Data Centre Push
Its strategy includes building out data centre capacity across multiple facility types, including hyperscale, edge, and micro data centres.
Blue Cloud Softech intends to establish micro and modular data centres in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, linking the approach to lower-latency processing, edge computing, and localised cloud services for enterprises.
It has also described an SME-focused distributed data centre footprint for enterprise workloads, AI applications, and secure data hosting. The company has positioned these facilities as part of a national platform integrating connectivity, compute, and storage.
Wireless And Private Networks
In addition to fixed connectivity, the company has referenced 5G Fixed Wireless Access as part of its infrastructure plans. It also cited Private Mobile Networks and Captive Non-Public Networks for enterprise and government environments.
It also highlighted managed surveillance services, citing its BCS AccessGenie platform and plans to integrate it with edge data centres and AI analytics.
The combination of ISP services, data centres, private networks, and managed services reflects a convergence strategy being pursued by many infrastructure and IT providers in India. Enterprise demand for secure connectivity and local hosting has grown alongside public policy focus on domestic data handling and digital public infrastructure.
Tejesh Kodali, Group Chairman, said:
"This Letter of Intent marks a pivotal moment in our journey towards building a truly digital India. By securing national ISP authorisation, we are positioned to accelerate innovation and further our commitment to delivering reliable, secure, and scalable digital platforms. Our investments in AI-native data centres and sovereign cloud align perfectly with the government's vision for a digitally empowered society, and we look forward to contributing meaningfully to this mission."
Vinod Babu Bollikonda, Group CEO, said: "Receiving the LoI for national area service is an endorsement of our strategic direction and operational excellence. This milestone enables us to offer integrated connectivity and digital infrastructure solutions to customers across the country. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of compliance and innovation as we operationalise these services and support enterprises on their digital transformation journeys."
Next steps include meeting the Department of Telecommunications compliance conditions and finalising the Unified Licence agreement before it can begin national ISP operations under the VNO framework.
