CSM Technologies wins AI management system certification
Tue, 18th Aug 2026 (Today)
CSM Technologies has secured ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System, covering the company's end-to-end technology services.
Described as the first international benchmark for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, the certification followed an independent audit of CSM's operations.
Its scope covers software and application development, artificial intelligence, machine learning and generative AI, alongside digital transformation, IT consultancy, systems integration, managed IT and cloud services, and data management and governance.
CSM operates in GovTech and enterprise IT, serving government and private-sector clients in India and overseas markets including Africa, the UAE, the United States and Canada.
AI controls
According to CSM, the management system includes a formal AI policy and measurable objectives built into standard operating procedures.
It also sets out controls for AI delivery through approved tools, data classification protocols and lifecycle documentation across development work.
Oversight is handled by CSM's Core Technology Group, which tracks AI usage, performance and the effectiveness of controls on an ongoing basis.
An AI Risk Register also forms part of the framework, with AI-related risks logged, treated and closed through their full lifecycle.
The certification comes as businesses and public bodies face closer scrutiny over how artificial intelligence systems are developed, deployed and monitored, particularly in regulated sectors and public services.
That has pushed suppliers to demonstrate clearer governance around transparency, accountability and risk management, especially as generative AI tools are introduced into operational systems.
The certification adds to CSM's existing quality and security accreditations, including CMMI Development Maturity Level 5 and other ISO standards.
The company focuses on sectors including mining, government and public services, agriculture, industry and trade facilitation, education, healthcare and tourism.
Client focus
The certification is likely to be particularly relevant in public-sector procurement and large enterprise contracts, where buyers increasingly seek evidence of formal governance for AI-based products and services.
It also gives CSM an externally assessed framework as it expands its use of AI and generative AI across digital transformation and managed services.
Priyadarshi Nanu Pany commented on the rationale for the certification.
"As CSM scales its AI-led offerings across governments and enterprises in India, Africa, and North America, our clients need to know that innovation is matched by discipline. ISO/IEC 42001 certification is an independent validation that our AI systems are governed by clear policy, continuous oversight and a structured approach to risk, giving our partners the confidence to adopt AI-driven solutions at scale," said Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, Managing Director & CEO, CSM Technologies.
CSM is headquartered in Bhubaneswar, in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, and has built its business around digital transformation projects for government departments and commercial clients.
Its organisational framework for AI is intended to support responsible development and delivery across its wider portfolio of technology services.
The AI management structure brings together policy setting, operational controls, continuous monitoring and risk handling under one certified framework.
As organisations look for a formal way to govern AI systems, ISO/IEC 42001:2023 has emerged as a key standard, and CSM's certification applies that structure across a broad range of its technology operations.
