Fri, 5th Apr 2024

In an announcement made at the NVIDIA GTC global AI conference, Lenovo has introduced new hybrid AI solutions, developed in partnership with NVIDIA, offering generative AI capabilities to businesses of all sizes and across all industries.

With these new technologies, both enterprises and cloud providers are empowered to take AI concepts and make them a reality, ultimately driving innovation, digitisation and growth.

Sumir Bhatia, President – AP, Lenovo ISG, spoke about the unveiling of these cutting-edge AI solutions, and underlined Lenovo's commitment to harnessing advanced AI capabilities in an environmentally conscious manner. He stated, "By pioneering innovative cooling technologies and designing systems with minimal environmental impact, Lenovo is not only advancing AI capabilities but also leading the charge toward a greener, more sustainable future."

The hybrid solutions have been tailored to efficiently bring AI to customer data, wherever and whenever required – from handheld devices to the cloud. These technologies are already optimised to run NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, providing secure and stable production AI. Additionally, developers are now granted access to the newly announced NVIDIA microservices, inclusive of NVIDIA NIM and NeMo Retriever.

Amit Luthra, MD – India, Lenovo ISG, expressed excitement at bringing the potential of tailor-made generative AI applications to enterprises and clouds across India. "This collaboration represents a pivotal moment in our commitment to empowering businesses in India with transformative AI capabilities,” he said. "By leveraging advancements in real-time computing and power efficiency, Lenovo aims to democratise AI, fostering innovation, digital transformation, and economic growth within the Indian market."

Lenovo's commitment to power efficiency is evident in their groundbreaking Lenovo Neptune liquid cooling technology, designed to enable efficient, high-power computing without compromise. The company takes pride in being ranked #1 on the Green500 list for its designs that accelerate computing capabilities whilst keeping systems cool, even in high-heat, multi-GPU environments.

Expanding the Lenovo ThinkSystem AI portfolio, the company has unveiled two new powerful 8-way NVIDIA GPU systems, designed to accelerate the implementation of AI. These bespoke systems enable great strides in generative AI, natural language processing (NLP), and large language model (LLM) development, supporting the new NVIDIA HGX AI supercomputing platform, including the all-new NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GB200 Superchip and the advanced, next-generation NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand and Spectrum-X800 Ethernet networking platforms.

Through collaboration with NVIDIA, Lenovo is also advancing support for the NVIDIA Omniverse development platform from workstation to cloud. These partnerships aim to help businesses swiftly build and deploy a range of purpose-built AI, HPC and Omniverse applications, providing cloud service providers with customised models faster and at scale.

Lenovo's newly announced AI Services Center Of Excellence (COE) combines business advisors, data scientists, and AI-optimised infrastructure as-a-service. This aims to fast-track businesses' journey to implementing powerful, responsible, and sustainable AI. The COE provides services to help businesses uncover the potential for AI and offers support in implementing, adopting, and scaling Generative AI solutions.
