Mobilise has launched two telecom software products, HERO API Suite and HERO MVNO Platform, aimed at organisations that want to offer mobile services without building their own operational systems.

The launch addresses two approaches to telecom services. One is for businesses that want to add selected functions, such as eSIM services, to existing apps or customer journeys. The other is for organisations that need a full software environment to run a mobile service.

HERO API Suite offers modular application programming interfaces for onboarding, identity verification, payments, order management, self-service, notifications, reporting and partner enablement. It is aimed at businesses that want to add telecom features to their own branded applications, portals and digital services.

By contrast, HERO MVNO Platform is designed as a broader operating system for digital mobile services. It combines eSIM activation, payments, billing, customer relationship management, customer support and analytics in one platform.

Both products sit on the company's HERO orchestration layer, which manages customer journeys, provisioning, payments, billing, reporting and connectivity workflows in a single environment.

Mobilise is pitching the new products to businesses beyond traditional telecom operators, including fintechs, travel brands, digital service providers and mobile virtual network operators. The move reflects a wider shift as non-telecom brands look at connectivity as part of a broader digital product rather than as a standalone service.

For travel companies, that could mean integrating eSIM connectivity into the booking process. For fintech groups, it could mean introducing mobile services through an existing app instead of building a separate telecom operation from the ground up.

Two routes

The distinction between the two products is central to the launch. HERO API Suite is for businesses that want to start with specific telecom functions and add them to existing digital channels. HERO MVNO Platform is aimed at organisations launching or upgrading a mobile offering that needs end-to-end operational support.

The full platform supports multiple connectivity providers and several eSIM activation methods, including QR code, deep-link and in-app activation. Optional features include eKYC verification, AI-supported customer service, additional payment and connectivity integrations, and support for VoIP and V-eSIM services.

The API suite includes sandbox access, developer documentation and onboarding support. These features are intended to help organisations test integrations and expand their use of telecom functions over time.

Market shift

The launch comes as more companies in sectors such as travel and financial technology explore mobile connectivity as part of their customer offer. Rather than treating telecom services as a separate line of business, some brands are considering them an extension of digital products they already sell.

That has created demand for software tools that either plug telecom functions into an existing app or provide a complete back-end operating environment. Mobilise's approach is to serve both ends of that market with products built on the same underlying architecture.

Hamish White, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mobilise, said the shift was changing who could enter the telecom market. "Connectivity is no longer the sole domain of traditional telecom providers," White said.

"Travel brands, fintechs and digital platforms are increasingly exploring how mobile services can enhance the customer experiences they already deliver. Some organisations need a simple way to embed telecom capabilities into an existing product, while others require a complete MVNO environment. HERO API Suite and HERO MVNO Platform give businesses the freedom to start where they need to and scale on a common foundation as their proposition develops," White said.

Mobilise added that the shared HERO architecture allows customers to start with selected APIs and later expand into wider platform functions if their telecom offer grows into a larger operation.
