Sonata Software has secured a USD $73 million, five-year digital modernisation agreement with a major US-based company in the technology, media, and telecom sector.

The agreement will see Sonata Software implement an AI-powered outsourcing model to enhance the client's global scalability, accelerate innovation, and optimise IT operations.

According to Sonata, the client chose the firm for its depth of engineering knowledge, flexible delivery methods, and history in successfully executing AI-driven business transformations.

As part of the contract, Sonata will set up an AI-enabled Modernisation Engineering Centre in India. The scope of work includes platform engineering, migration to Amazon Cloud, enterprise system upgrades involving Salesforce and Workday, cybersecurity enhancements, improvements to data services, and the development of modern applications. All projects will utilise automation and engineering practices designed for scale.

Samir Dhir, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sonata Software, said, "This is the second-largest deal in Sonata's history—and a proud milestone for Team Sonata. It reflects our unique positioning as a right-sized partner for enterprises seeking deep modernisation capabilities and AI-first transformation. We are excited to help our client unlock new speed, agility, and digital resilience levels."

Sonata's outlined approach is designed to provide the client with higher operational efficiency, faster innovation cycles, and greater agility to expand internationally. The client aims to consolidate its standing within the TMT sector, which has been defined by rapid technological changes and evolving business models.

The contract focuses on embedding a foundation of AI and automation throughout the digital modernisation process, to reduce costs and support both consumer- and business-facing platforms.

Sonata Software has indicated that the partnership forms a key part of its broader growth and delivery strategy in the global technology sector, building on its existing experience in cloud, data, cybersecurity, and enterprise solutions.

The USD $73 million agreement between Sonata Software and a prominent US-based company is one of the most significant in the company's history, both in terms of scope and value. It highlights the growing demand for advanced digital infrastructure and AI-enabled services within the technology, media, and telecom sectors. With a focus on scalability, innovation, and operational efficiency, the partnership underscores the importance of leveraging AI and automation to stay competitive in an ever-evolving market.
