Tines to double Australia headcount as APAC hub opens

Wed, 22nd Apr 2026 (Yesterday)

Tines will double its headcount in Australia and has launched its Asia-Pacific hub there, following rising demand from customers in Australia and New Zealand.

The Irish-founded software company plans to add customer-facing roles as it expands its presence in the region. Customers can also now choose local data residency through AWS.

Growing demand

Tines sells workflow automation software used by companies including Canva, the Australian National University, REA Group and nib Health Funds. Demand has expanded beyond security teams and security operations, with growing interest from IT departments looking to deploy AI tools in day-to-day work.

Tines says 75% of its active customers use its software across multiple teams. It also pointed to broader uptake of AI-related functions on its platform, with use of large language model features rising 302% over the past year.

Eoin Hinchy, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Tines, said the company was seeing a shift in how local organisations approached automation and AI.

"We're seeing a real shift in the local market right now - from early adopters like Canva and ANU, who have embraced intelligent workflows at scale, to a growing wave of organisations that are just beginning to explore what's possible. What's exciting is that the conversation has changed: companies across the region are now actively looking to operationalise AI and drive more value from the tools they already have, and Tines is uniquely positioned to help them do that. Doubling our footprint in Australia is a natural next step, and we're committed to building something significant here for the long term," said Hinchy.

The Australia move forms part of a broader international hiring push. Tines recently announced 100 jobs in the United States as it expands beyond its dual bases in Boston and Dublin.

Usage metrics

Organisations are adopting Tines for a broader range of internal processes rather than limiting its use to security tasks. The company says nearly all pilots run on its platform progress into production, with 94% moving beyond the trial stage.

Tines also says customers connect an average of 68 different tools to its platform. The figure supports its pitch that businesses want software that links existing systems rather than replacing them.

Its usage figures suggest heavier adoption by existing customers as well as growth in the number of tenants. Total event volume on the platform rose 89%, compared with tenant growth of 42.5%, while story runs, a measure of workflow execution, increased 77%.

Tines says it shipped 357 product features over the past year. It also reported a 59% ratio of daily active users to monthly active users, which it cited as an indicator of repeat usage.

Enterprise backing

Judith Harrington, Senior Market Advisor, Digital Technologies & Services, Enterprise Ireland, linked the Australian investment to demand from large corporate buyers.

"Tines is a standout example of an Irish company building world-class technology and scaling globally with real intent. Its continued investment in the Australian team reflects strong demand from enterprise security and IT teams for intelligent workflow automation. We're delighted to see Tines deepen its presence in the region and look forward to supporting its expansion across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider APAC market," said Harrington.

Tines has raised USD $272 million from investors including Goldman Sachs, SoftBank, Felicis, Addition, Accel, Blossom Capital and Lux Capital.
