Consistent launches 16-port Gigabit Ethernet switch in India

Consistent Infosystems has launched a 16-port Gigabit Ethernet desktop switch in India for home, office and professional networking use.

Branded CT-DS-16PG, the switch has 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports 10/100/1000 Mbps connectivity. It offers switching bandwidth of 32Gbps and forwarding capacity of 23.808Mbps, according to the company.

Designed for desktop use, it supports Plug & Play installation and includes Auto MDI/MDIX support, removing the need for crossover cables when connecting compatible equipment.

Consistent says the switch can be used with computers, printers, IP cameras, storage devices and other networked hardware. It also includes lightning protection.

The unit uses an external 12V DC / 1A power adapter and is rated to operate in temperatures from -20°C to 55°C. It comes in a compact rectangular desktop form with a black finish, dark grey front panel and yellow detailing.

Market reach

The switch is being sold through the company's channel partner network across India at a maximum retail price of INR 6,999.

Consistent operates in IT hardware, networking, surveillance, print consumables, electronics and gaming products. Founded in New Delhi in 2011, it says it now has more than 25 branches, over 93 service centres, more than 400 direct employees, and exports to more than 17 countries.

Its portfolio includes more than 693 products, and its channel network spans more than 3,795 partners across India. The company also says it serves more than 5.5 crore customers.

Company comment

Yogesh Agrawal, CMD and Co-Founder, said the launch reflects demand for stable wired networks as more connected devices are used in homes and workplaces.

"As more devices become part of our everyday work and home environments, having a reliable network is increasingly important. With our new 16-port Gigabit Ethernet desktop switch, we wanted to offer a simple and dependable solution that makes expanding a wired network easier," said Agrawal.

The launch adds another networking product to Consistent's broader hardware range in the Indian market, where it has been expanding its distribution footprint through branches, service centres and channel partners.
