OpenAI has launched a partner network for companies that build, sell and deploy artificial intelligence services using its technology, and plans to invest USD $150 million in the programme.

The initiative begins with a select group of global partners across systems integration, management consulting, technology and data services. It is intended to support organisations that need help identifying use cases, integrating AI into existing systems, redesigning workflows and managing adoption across large workforces.

OpenAI also aims to train and enable 300,000 certified consultants by the end of 2026. Partners will be able to progress through three tiers - Select, Advanced and Elite - based on measures including sales performance, technical expertise, co-sell activity and deployment experience.

The programme will also introduce specialisations in areas such as Codex, cybersecurity and agents. OpenAI is also piloting a Forward Deployed Experts programme with founding partners for more complex enterprise deployments that require closer alignment with its engineering teams.

Enterprise push

The move underlines OpenAI's push to expand its reach in the corporate market by relying on consultancies, integrators and specialist technology firms that already manage large customer relationships. Rather than selling only direct access to models and tools, it is building a channel designed to help customers connect AI systems to business data, internal processes and operational controls.

That reflects a broader market shift as companies move from experimenting with generative AI to embedding it in day-to-day operations. Many large organisations now need support not only with model access, but also with governance, security, workflow design and the practical steps required to get staff to use new systems.

OpenAI framed the network as a response to those implementation challenges, saying no single company could deliver every solution in every market for every customer and that a partner-led approach would help more organisations adopt AI in ways suited to their needs.

Customer examples

OpenAI highlighted several joint projects with partners and customers. In one case, Agilent worked with OpenAI and BCG on an internal AI deployment, as well as the development of more intelligent instruments, software and services.

"AI is a top priority for Agilent as we strengthen our leadership, improve execution and build differentiated capabilities for customers. Through a collaboration with OpenAI and BCG, we are accelerating deployment of AI across our business while advancing more intelligent instruments, software and services. Our focus is simple: deliver faster, highest-quality insights to help our customers make better decisions," said Padraig McDonnell, President and CEO of Agilent.

Another example involved eBay, which worked with Artium and OpenAI on an AI customer service platform.

"eBay has collaborated with Artium and OpenAI to develop a next-generation AI customer service platform designed to enhance experiences for both customers and customer service teams. This initiative sets a new standard in customer care, where human expertise and AI agents work together to deliver faster, more consistent and more personalized resolutions," said Dan Leiva, Vice President of Customer Service & Marketing Technology at eBay.

Paychex also described a payroll-related project with Bain and OpenAI.

"We set out to transform one of the most complex workflows in our business, and Bain and OpenAI were invaluable partners in helping us turn that vision into a production-scale AI solution that meets the demands of a mission-critical payroll environment. The result: an 80% reduction in wait time compared with humans and a 30% reduction in effort time for human-reviewed requests, while maintaining the accuracy, security and trust our clients rely on every day," said David Wilson, Vice President of Platform and Technology Services at Paychex.

T-Mobile was also cited as working with Accenture and OpenAI on customer interactions.

"Our collaboration with Accenture and OpenAI is helping us explore the next generation of AI-enabled customer experiences. Through our IntentCX work, we're evaluating how real-time intent and sentiment intelligence can enable faster, more personalized and more seamless interactions for customers," said Grant Ries, Chief Data & AI Officer at T-Mobile.

Partner backing

Several consulting and services groups joined the launch line-up and outlined how they view the relationship. Accenture described the tie-up as part of broader work to reshape client operations with AI.

"By combining OpenAI's frontier models with Accenture's unmatched industry depth, global delivery scale and decades of experience embedding advanced technology into the core of how organizations operate, we're helping our clients reinvent entire value chains - not just deploy AI. Through our partnership with OpenAI, we're turning AI ambition into enterprise-wide transformation at speed and scale," said Dr. Lan Guan, Chief AI and Data Officer at Accenture.

Bain pointed to its existing work with OpenAI and its role in helping companies expand AI use across the business.

"We're proud to be part of OpenAI's Partner Network and to build on our longstanding partnership that has delivered measurable impact for clients around the world. Together, OpenAI and Bain are helping organizations move from AI ambition to enterprise-wide impact. By combining OpenAI's frontier AI technology with Bain's expertise in strategy, technology and enterprise transformation, we help clients deploy and scale AI more effectively, delivering measurable business impact and lasting competitive advantage," said Chuck Whitten, Global Head of Bain's Digital Practises and Capabilities at Bain.

BCG said the arrangement would support wider deployment of applied AI beyond pilot projects.

"Our partnership with OpenAI brings together frontier AI, BCG's expertise in transformation across industries and functions, and BCG X's technology capabilities and forward deployed engineering talent. Together, we're helping clients move beyond pilots to build and deploy applied AI at scale and deliver measurable business impact. We're excited to be part of the OpenAI Partner Network and extend that transformative impact to more organizations globally," said Sylvain Duranton, Managing Director & Senior Partner at BCG and Global Leader of BCG X.

Eliza said it had chosen OpenAI as its exclusive frontier model partner.

"At Eliza, we're all-in on OpenAI as our exclusive frontier model partnership, not just because of the technology advantage, but because of the mission. We share the belief that AI's greatest impact over the next decade will come from helping organizations bring these capabilities into the real world: empowering employees, serving customers better and creating meaningful value for communities. The future of AI should belong to everyone. We're proud to be building alongside the OpenAI team to help make that happen," said Stephen Garden, Chief Executive Officer of Eliza.
