OPPO India has launched the Find X9s and Find X9 Ultra smartphones in India, expanding its flagship range in the country.

The Find X9s starts at an effective price of INR 62,199, while the Find X9 Ultra starts at INR 1,36,999 after applicable offers. OPPO also introduced the Enco Air5 Pro wireless earbuds at INR 4,999.

The launch comes as OPPO looks to strengthen its position in India's premium smartphone market. Citing IDC data for the first quarter, the company said it recorded 22% year-on-year growth, the highest among the top five brands, taking its market share to 15.3% and keeping it among the top three smartphone brands in India.

Both phones put imaging at the centre of their pitch, with OPPO highlighting its latest Hasselblad camera system and software tools built into ColourOS 16. The devices are aimed at users who treat their smartphone as a primary camera, as well as those seeking AI-driven tools for everyday tasks.

Goldee Patnaik, Head of Communications, OPPO India, outlined the company's position on the new range.

"At OPPO, we have always looked at innovation through the lens of how people actually use their devices. The Find X9 Ultra brings together our most advanced imaging technologies, while the Find X9s extends the same flagship DNA in a slimmer and more lightweight form. Together, they reflect the changing expectations of India's premium smartphone users and our continued focus on bringing flagship experiences to the market," Patnaik said.

Camera focus

The Find X9 Ultra is the more expensive of the two and has the more extensive camera setup. It includes a new-generation Hasselblad Master Camera System led by a 50MP 10x optical zoom telephoto camera, alongside 200MP main and 200MP 3x telephoto cameras, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a True Colour Camera and a 50MP front camera.

According to OPPO, the system covers focal lengths from 14mm to 460mm. Video features include 4K recording at 60fps, 120fps Dolby Vision HDR and 8K recording at 30fps, along with O-Log2, ACES and 3D LUT support.

The phone has a 6.82-inch display with a QHD+ ProXDR AMOLED panel, a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,600 nits. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and has a 7,050mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Smaller model

The Find X9s is positioned as the slimmer option in the line-up, with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate and narrow bezels. It uses a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera, with support for 120x zoom.

The device runs on MediaTek's Dimensity 9500s chipset and includes a 7,025mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W charging. OPPO is offering it in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants, while the Ultra comes in a 12GB+512GB version.

Durability is another shared theme. Both phones carry IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, along with Swiss SGS five-star certification for drop and impact resistance. They also include Splash Touch, designed to maintain touch response on a wet display.

AI software

The Find X9 series runs ColourOS 16 and adds a collection of AI tools that OPPO says are designed for routine use rather than specialist tasks. AI Mind Pilot acts as an assistant that works with models including Google Gemini, Perplexity and OpenAI models, while AI Mind Space is designed to let users capture and organise information through a dedicated Snap Key.

Other features include AI Menu Translation for reading unfamiliar menus and AI Bill Manager for sorting receipts. OPPO has also added a redesigned Live Space interface and support for Android's enhanced Quick Share.

Both phones will receive five years of operating system updates and six years of security updates, a support period that has become an increasingly important point of comparison in the premium Android market.

Audio add-on

Alongside the smartphones, OPPO introduced the Enco Air5 Pro earbuds with active noise cancellation of up to 55dB, triple-microphone call handling, a 12mm titanium-coated driver and claimed playback of up to 54 hours. The earbuds also include IP55 dust and water resistance, dual-device connectivity and AI Translate support.

OPPO is offering a range of retail incentives, including instant cashback of up to 10%, exchange bonuses of up to 16% and zero-down-payment financing schemes for up to 24 months. It is also providing complimentary Google AI Pro access for three months and Jio-linked benefits for eligible users.

According to the company's product specifications, the Find X9 Ultra weighs 236g, while the Find X9s weighs 202g.
