Spektrum Labs has appointed Mark Cravotta as Chief Operating Officer as it seeks to expand its cyber resilience business.

Cravotta brings 25 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity, with a background in scaling sales and operations at software and security companies. At Spektrum Labs, he will oversee operational execution and the company's global go-to-market strategy.

Most recently, he was chief revenue officer at CoreView, where he managed revenue operations across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. Before that, he was chief revenue officer at Keeper Security, leading global revenue as well as managed service provider and partner channels.

He also served as chief revenue officer at Crypsis Digital Security, a digital forensics and incident response consultancy later acquired by Palo Alto Networks. Spektrum cited that experience as part of his track record in growing security businesses through expansion and acquisition.

Market shift

The appointment comes as cybersecurity vendors and buyers place greater emphasis on resilience, increasingly used to describe the ability to prepare for, withstand and recover from attacks. Spektrum points to industry forecasts that more chief information security officers will reframe cybersecurity programmes around resilience over the next few years.

Spektrum Labs develops software designed to measure and verify an organisation's security posture, backup status and insurance readiness. Its Fusion platform is used by enterprises, private equity firms and insurers as a single source of evidence on operational security controls.

In announcing the hire, Spektrum linked Cravotta's arrival to its effort to broaden adoption through channels and partnerships. His remit includes helping build the internal structure needed to support wider market reach.

"Mark's expertise in scaling high-growth, PE-backed companies through channel-first go-to-market is exactly what Spektrum needs right now. We invented the provable cyber resilience category and launched a platform that unifies the siloed pillars of cybersecurity, continuity, and insurance into one ecosystem built for the agentic era. We didn't go to market-the market pulled us out of stealth: private equity firms protecting their portfolios, cybersecurity vendors, brokers, and insurers. Mark will lead our ability to scale into that demand through national channel partners while building the internal engine to support it," said J.J. Thompson, chief executive officer and founder of Spektrum Labs.

Career move

For Cravotta, the move marks a shift from revenue leadership roles to a broader operating remit. While his earlier posts centred on sales execution and channel development, the chief operating officer role puts him in charge of day-to-day execution across the business.

That broader remit matters for a younger company seeking to turn market interest into repeatable commercial growth. In cybersecurity, where vendors often move quickly from product development to sales expansion, operating discipline can become critical as customer bases and partner networks grow.

Spektrum describes its platform as a way to provide proof that safeguards are functioning before, during and after a breach. Customers use that information for board reporting, insurance processes and security oversight.

The business is positioning itself around the idea that organisations need more than point-in-time assessments or policy checklists. It argues that continuous validation of controls and recovery readiness is becoming more important as cyber threats become faster-moving and more disruptive.

Cravotta echoed that view in his remarks on the appointment. "I've spent my career helping grow larger, later-stage SaaS companies, so joining Spektrum was a deliberate choice. The market doesn't need another security tool with AI bolted on as an afterthought and many existing companies will not be able to adapt. Cyber resilience is the new benchmark-and in a landscape where entire security models can be infiltrated within minutes using AI, continuous measurement isn't just critical; it's essential. Spektrum Labs is uniquely positioned to proactively drive and validate true resilience. The platform is built from the ground up to address today's unique security challenges. I am excited to work with the team on GTM market strategy and execution with the goal of getting this mission-critical platform deployed globally at scale," said Cravotta.
