Zywave has added new functions to its Apex AI platform for insurance brokers and carriers, expanding prospecting, commercial loss data access and workflow tools.

The update includes new personalisation features and Ideal Customer Profile tools in Zywave Producer Agent, a loss data connector for Zywave Apex MCP, and a new library of AI skills in Apex AI Studio.

In Producer Agent, agencies can now set guidance for how they want emails written, including proof points, topics to include or avoid, writing guidelines and their own content. The aim is to help teams communicate with prospects in a consistent style.

Zywave has also revised Ideal Customer Profiles following feedback from early users. Producers can now build a contact list directly inside the AI assistant they already use, while Zywave Apex MCP ranks contacts by title fit and company opportunity signals and selects one main contact at each company by default.

Other additions include the ability to add contacts to existing Ideal Customer Profiles, context on why each contact appears in a list, a recommendation engine for prospect targets and a homepage showing high-engagement prospects alongside email addresses and phone numbers.

One early user highlighted the email personalisation tools. "The content being sent out and the email sequences are great. I love that [Producer Agent] makes a different email for each person... it's specifically tailored to them," said Kendal Pettis, an early adopter of Producer Agent at Integrated Insurance Solutions.

Loss data

Zywave has also made its commercial loss data available through a Loss Data connector for Zywave Apex MCP. Users can ask AI tools for a loss profile on a company or similar companies, or request case-level detail from Zywave's record of reported loss events.

This is intended to let underwriters, brokers and other users query loss information through the AI assistants they already use, rather than through separate custom integrations or manual requests.

For carriers, the connector broadens access to loss information beyond specialist data teams. For brokers, it can be used in renewal preparation and before prospect meetings.

Access to the loss data connector is available to Loss Insight Feed and Loss Analysis customers that add Zywave Apex MCP to their subscription.

AI studio

The new Apex AI Studio is a library of pre-built AI skills based on Zywave Apex MCP. Zywave describes these skills as reusable instructions that guide an AI tool through a task step by step, allowing users to repeat workflows with more consistent results.

The studio works with AI tools that support MCP and related open standards. Skills only access data already available under a user's login, and any action that writes data requires confirmation first.

The first set of skills covers several insurance distribution tasks. These include prospecting by territory, industry and employer size; preparing a first commercial meeting packet; reviewing publicly reported large losses; auditing a book of business for missing details or duplicate records; and handling client service tasks such as certificates of insurance and auto ID cards.

Eric Rentsch, Chief Product Officer at Zywave, said the changes were designed to support revenue activity as well as efficiency. "The broker of the future will be measured less by how much work they save and more by how much business they grow," said Rentsch. "Producer Agent helps producers reach the right prospects in their own voice, and Loss Data in the Apex MCP lets them walk into every renewal or prospect meeting as an advisor with data. We're building AI that helps brokers win, not just work faster."
