Mon, 26th Feb 2024

Aras, a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) and digital thread solutions has announced that the global sustainability technology company Johnson Matthey has selected its product, Aras Innovator, to replace its existing systems and contribute to the digitisation of its worldwide operations. The software will commence its multi-stage rollout from Q1 2024.

Johnson Matthey plays an integral role in sustainable technologies, servicing clients within the energy, chemicals and automotive industries. By utilising Aras' platform, the company looks to improve efficiency through the establishment of a singular digital transformation strategy, replacing legacy systems with Aras Innovator. This new technology will allow Johnson Matthey to modernise their PLM infrastructure, thus advancing their strategic goal of providing their customers with superior, environmentally friendly technologies.

Aras Innovator Software as a Service (SaaS) is an open and adaptive platform characterised by its ability to be readily tailored to meet the specific needs of businesses. With its configurable application approach and low-code development tools, the platform can be adapted to the specific needs of unique business processes. On a broader scale, it forms a digital thread within the wider enterprise application ecosystem, facilitating collaboration and data sharing amongst users.

Roque Martin, CEO of Aras, expressed delight at the partnership, stating: "We are proud to be supporting Johnson Matthey on the company's vision to catalyse the net-zero transition. Shifting from being document-centric to data-centric is fundamental to gaining benefit from the adoption of digital technologies across engineering and manufacturing. We look forward to helping Johnson Matthey gain better leverage from data and the benefits of digital transformation."

Isabel Tingay, Transformation Program Leader at Johnson Matthey, added depth to the conversation by revealing key reasons for the decision to partner with Aras: "The key factors in our decision to go with Aras were the adaptability of its platform, the maturity of the SaaS solution, and the company's understanding of our specific business challenges. Combining our data sets into a single source, from chemical formulation to build of materials, will enable improved collaboration and efficiency as we develop sustainable solutions for our customers."

The partnership gives strategic power to Johnson Matthey's digital transition efforts, enabling better data leverage and improved collaboration and efficiency in their sustainable solution development. The association marks a significant step for both companies in pushing the boundaries of sustainable industrial innovations as they strive to adapt to a world where the demand for sustainable technology solutions is rapidly growing.
